This is an installment in the series Green Products That I Live By.
I’ve spent a long time looking for a decent shampoo and conditioner. The cheap stuff leaves me with dazzling hair, but a filthy feeling in my head. Personal care products are among some of the worst silent polluters out there. Most people envision their waste going down the drain and into a high-tech, futuristic purifying center. Ummm, not so much.
Truth is, a lot of what you put down the drain, in regards to your personal health and hygienic care ends up passing right through those water treatment processes and back into the environment. Maybe even back into the water you’re drinking.
Not only that, but these products are tested on animals in order to protect our precious human lives. Well I say no more. My personal green philosophy includes social responsibility as well as environmental stewardship. That’s why I make an effort to purchase products that practice no environmental testing.
And in steps today’s product spotlight. I have usually been an adamant supporter of 2-in-1 shampoos. After all, they reduce the amount of plastics that we use, even if they are recyclable. Turns out that I haven’t been able to find one that is animal friendly (if you do, let me know!). Most animal friendly products are also rather expensive.
This edition of Green Products That I Live By features BioInfusion Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner. I found this product on the shelves of Walgreens and decided to try it out. It is not tested on animals, and compared to most shampoos and conditioners, boasts an impressive list of natural ingredients. They include Rosemary and Peppermint extracts, Peppermint Oil, Jojoba oil, wheat amino acid, and grapefruit seed extract.
My satisfaction with this product is proven in the healthy look of my hair and the gentle tingling of my scalp after its use. Not to mention, it’s easy on the wallet. A 33.8 oz bulk supply costs only $14.99 (It’s also available in the handy 3 oz. size shone.

Having longer hair, I find that I need a conditioner also. But I will try this product next time I’m buying shampoo and conditioner.

What about other hair products like mousse and hairspray? What could we use?
